“Behind-the-scenes” tours for ages 10 and up feature the opportunity to join a member of our staff in a small group to tour the facility to meet the animals, and to take a peek behind the scenes into areas not otherwise open for the public to see. Cost is $50 per person. Tour starts at 11:00 a.m. sharp and lasts about two hours. This is a walking tour.
Pre-paid reservations are required. A maximum of 12 people will be allowed to book, per tour.
Tour participants will be led through the entire compound by a member of our staff who will introduce the animal residents, share their personal stories, and provide a glimpse into facets of the sanctuary not seen during any other tour programs.
This tour program is restricted to people ages 10 and up only for the comfort of the animals, sometimes viewed in their private spaces, inappropriate for children. This is a walking tour that will cover just over 1/2 mile, mostly outdoors. Casual, comfortable, appropriate attire is recommended. Pathways are paved. Accessibility may be limited in some indoor areas during the tour.
Photography may be restricted except in public viewing areas, but cameras (or phones) are welcomed. Photographing from public viewing areas is not restricted.
This tour may be subject to a cancellation fee of $50.00 if not cancelled within 24 hours of the confirmed appointment time. We apologize for any inconvenience, however Black Pine often asks volunteers to travel up to 90 minutes to conduct tours for guests so we aim to avoid late cancellations. If Black Pine cancels an appointment due to weather, staff resource issues, veterinary emergencies, etc., no cancellation fee will apply and participants will be issued a full refund.
We reserve the right to allow other parties to join the same tour until the maximum attendance allowance is met. Click here to check availability (some black-out dates are possible) and/or to reserve.
